Red to Green - Keeping WhatPub Up to Date
Introduction
WhatPub is useful to anyone visiting our branch, whether they live locally or are visiting our area. It helps them plan an itinerary of local pubs to visit based on their individual requirements, such as location, dog friendly, family friendly, serving real cider etc etc.
As you can appreciate, it's important that we keep the information on WhatPub as up-to-date and as accurate as possible.
This is where you help by being our eyes and ears on the ground. Keeping us informed about any changes at the pubs across our branch: opening times; meal times; website etc.
How do I use the table.
The table below shows how up-to-date key information about our real ale pubs are.
For each of the eight categories, the symbols and colours indicate whether the data is Up to Date (GREEN), Out of Date (ORANGE) or is Missing (RED).
So it's very easy to check the WhatPub data for your local, or a pub you are visiting, to see if any of it needs to be checked, confirmed and, possibly, updated.
Submitting changes
- Pub Name: Clicking on the pub's name will take you to the pub's WhatPub entry.
- Survey: If you'd like to complete a full WhatPub survey of a pub, click on the symbol to create an email requesting a survey form.
- Opening Times/Meal Times: Click on the appropriate symbol and an email will be created allowing you submit any updates or confirm that there have been no changes. If it makes it easier, you can email a photo of the current opening/meal times.
- Webpage/Email: Click on the appropriate symbol and an email will be created allowing you submit any updates or confirm that there have been no changes. If the pub's webpage/email address hasn't changed please confirm this so we can reflect this on the webpage.
- Facebook: When confirming the pub's Facebook page, check when the last post was made by the pub. If it is over a year old we consider the Facebook page to be dormant so we’ll remove it from the pub's WhatPub record.
- Photo: Clicking on the symbol will create an email to which you can attach your photo(s). You'll will have to confirm that you are the copyright owner and are giving license to CAMRA to use the photo(s).
- Beer Score: You can submit a beer score through the WhatPub website (you'll need your CAMRA membership number and password to logon).
Any updates we receive will usually be applied within one to two days of the receipt.
**Typically out-of-date information is anything over two years old. However, a pub's last beer score is considered out-of-date if the last score was submitted over one year ago.
